I am originally from Haiti and I have lived in the United States for 15+ years. I am a mom of two beautiful boys. I have always loved balloons for as long as I can remember. When I was a kid, I used to play with 260q balloons in Haiti and we would put water in it to play yo-yo. I loved blowing balloons up until they popped!
When I had children of my own and I decorated for their birthday, I fell right back in love with balloons. My BFF now, who is also my business partner and I used to buy Amazon kit balloons to make garlands for my kids' birthday parties. One day a friend of mine saw our work and asked if we could make them to sell and at the time we did not, but that stuck with me for years. Fast forward to years later, I did some research on it and the more I learned about the craft, the more I fell in love with balloon design.
After working for a company for 5 years with my BFF where the pay was okay while hating my job the entire time, I made the biggest decision of my life. I quitted that job to become my own boss, get paid for my work as a balloon artist and focus solely on the business. The moment that I left that job, I felt like God had my back, my family had my back and nothing could have stopped me. My goal for the business is to grow into a huge company and open up our very own event space that provides garland rental for any design, for any event type. I am also teaching other people that want to learn how to do balloon design.
I am from Haiti and I currently live in Massachusetts. I grew up in Haiti around 2 very strong women who are my mother and grandmother doing business and that always stayed with me. When I moved to the United States, I met Claire, my business partner in eighth grade and ever since then, we have been inseparable. We are great teammates, we understand each other and we share a similar vision. Before we started the business we used to work at a company together and we always knew that we wanted to start a business together. We both wanted something that we both enjoyed and we both were passionate about.
Being a balloon artist happens naturally because we are always decorating for friends and family. Every event we would decorate especially around the holidays, we both enjoyed it and it made us happy. We love starting with an idea and making it come to reality.
My goals for the business is to make a difference at our clients’ events. Planning an event can be stressful and if we can take that stress away by doing a beautiful garland that will elevate our clients’ events. We even want to help our clients save money by providing them with rental equipment instead of spending money buying each equipment they need for their even only to never use it again. We want to be able to provide a hall and/or venue for my clients to use to host their events. We also plan on growing into a bigger team to support more clients and eventually have multiple Madame Balloon LLC offices all over the United States so it can be easier to assist our clients that are out of state.
